What is the meaning of the logo of WYD 2027?

The WYD 2027 Logo’s style is inspired by the painting Inwang Jesaekdo by Korean artist Gyeomjae Jeong Seon (1676-1759). The combination of a cross, the word “Seoul” in Hangul, a joyful young person, and the letters W, Y, and D result in a logo steeped in both Catholic and Korean heritage. Red symbolizes the blood of the Korean martyrs, blue the energy of youth, black the mystery of the future that awaits youth, and yellow the Holy Spirit and the glory of Christ’s victory.
